South Africa coach Desiree Ellis names 23-player squad for WAFCON 2022

South Africa coach Desiree Ellis on Monday (20 June) at the SAFA House announced her final squad for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations due to take place in Morocco from 2-23 July.
Captained by the continent’s most-capped female footballer, the legendary Janine van Wyk, Banyana Banyana will depart for Morocco on Wednesday, 22 June.
18-year old Nthabiseng Majiya of Richmond United is the youngest member in the squad, which also has Thembi Kgatlana, the Best Player and Top Scorer of the 2018 WAFCON in Ghana.
The team is currently in a training camp in Johannesburg.
South Africa, runners-up at the last Women’s AFCON in Ghana, are Group C alongside reigning champions Nigeria and debutants Burundi and Botswana.
