WAFCON: Third place preview

Two teams ready to put behind heartbreaking semi-final losses will lock horns for a third place spot.

The Copper Queens who have been one of the best teams and one of the surprises of this year’s tournament, will be looking to battle it out against the defending Champions Nigeria.

The Super Falcons will be without their top scorer Rasheedat Ajibade, who was sent off for a challenge in the game against Morocco, and Captain Onome Ebi, who suffered an injury in the same game and will be out for a while.

The third-place match will be a tough fight as both teams will be looking to end the tournament with a trophy.

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR

Zambia’s Grace Chanda is one of the players the Super Falcons need to watch out for in the game. The Copper Queens forward has been a stand out performer in the tournament, and was among the final three names shortlisted for the Best CAF Women’s Player of the Year Award.

While Super Falcons Forward Ifeoma Onumonu will be looking to step up and put behind the heartbreaking penalty miss against Morocco.
